Tim Doty, Assistant General Counsel of Operations, Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, Inc.
Tim Doty received his Juris Doctorate from the University of Oklahoma College of Law and has practiced law for over 10 years. Tim is Assistant General Counsel of Operations for Love’s. He is in his 8th year at Love’s and his areas of responsibility include managing Legal Services to Operations, Fleet Sales, Tire Care, Marketing, Merchandising and Factoring business units, and managing the company’s Enterprise Contract Management Team. Tim has led enterprise initiatives outside of the Legal Department including the development of an industry leading commercial tire service named Tirepass (www.tirepass.com), and the development and rollout of the company’s email management and retention program. Tim has played key roles in company initiatives involving asset acquisition, data privacy and corporate culture. Tim’s legal responsibilities have also included the supervision of outside attorneys representing the company in litigation and regulatory matters.
Tim and his wife Amber have three young daughters. Tim spends his time outside the office with his family, church, coaching and being involved with non-profit organizations including the United Way of Central Oklahoma.
Developing a Contract Management System Using OpenText and an IP Manager
Tim Doty, Assistant General Counsel of Operations, Love’s Travel Stops & Country Stores, Inc. will discuss going from a homegrown (internally made) repository to an enterprise solution that provides a robust and comprehensive resource for contracting within the company. Tim will discuss the beginning stages of getting the software up and running, the issues and setbacks before going live, and conducting training sessions. Topics for discussion include: tailored reports, metadata, permissions, end-users roles, and overall functionality.
